Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara, born February 28, 1948) is an American singer, actress and children's book writer. In a span of more than six decades, she's appeared in musical theatre, television and film, as well as performed in concert performances as a solo artist and released recordings. Highly well-known Broadway performer she has been awarded seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She has won three. Four of her Broadway album of cast on which she has performed have received Grammy Awards.



 



 Many consider Peters to be the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is well-known for performances on Broadway, such as in Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
